Castle & Estate Artist-in-Residence: Vale of Belvoir
Rural Arts Project |
With plans for
the expansion of rural arts in Leicestershire and Lincolnshire, for a
rural sculpture trail and other rural art & culture tuition
activities in the Vale of Belvoir, sculptor Laury Dizengremel
dreamed of a "Vale of Belvoir Rural Arts Project" and was
matched in her enthusiasm by her art residency hostess, Her Grace the
Duchess of Rutland. From her Old Hunt Stables studio on the Estate, Laury began to reach out to a variety of institutions, projets and people in both Leicestershire and Lincolnshire, and while keeping her focus on rural areas, also contacted the same in urban areas in the two counties: - primary schools - secondary schools - colleges - universities - art centres - museums - art groups / artist associations - individual artists - individual crafters / makers - and members of the general public, adults, children and seniors. "Conducting community consultation, finding out what is needed and wanted in terms of sculpture & design tuition and workshops, especially in the Vale of Belvoir, these are my primary targets at present." Master class, workshop
& tuition discounts for all Vale of Belvoir residents:
20% off normal fees Some materials may soon be funded if sufficient numbers apply from the local rural communities More information
about this art residency
and high-resolution photos for media reproduction can be obtained by
contacting Laury via e-mail: sculptures@sculpture-design.com
